More details for the curious : Unlike most of the students who go for higher studies right after their bachelors, I worked for some time (three years) before becoming a student again. In fact I worked at three different places during the three years, roughly one year at each place. I was very fortunate to have work that allowed me to be a technology creator rather than a technology user :). I did a lot of work for Apache Software Foundation and I am proud to have contributed to one of the most important building blocks of the Web services infrastructure, Apache Axis2. I have been elected as a member of the Apache Software Foundation and that to me is a great honor. My strong belief in Open source software came as a direct consequence of working with Dr Sanjiva Weerawarana, teacher, former boss and mentor. I wouldn't be where I am today without his advice and guidance. |
